This follows on from the design a sandwich activity and is an opportunity for the children to create an entire menu which could be relevant to sports / athletics professionals.
Learning Objectives
- To reinforce the message that it is important to eat 3 balanced meals a day
- To encourage children to think about how to create a balanced diet
- Advise on the benefits of salad and vegetables
NOTE: This activity is best taught in line with the module poster as children will need to have a rough understanding of what meals are appropriate for athletes.
Getting Started
- Please click on the "Activity" link on the left to download a printable menu sheet
- Print off the menu sheet out and hand one each out to the children
- Talk to the children about balanced diets, how to create them and what they should contain
- Ask the children to be as creative as they want when choosing what will be on their menu
