Learning Objectives
- To reinforce children’s understanding of the meaning of a balanced diet
- To evaluate children’s understanding of the benefit of different foods
- Encourage children to think about healthy eating
This is a great opportunity for the children to get creative and see what they’ve learnt
NOTE: This activity is best taught in line with the module poster as children will need to have a rough understanding of what meals are appropriate for athletes
Getting Started
- Click on the "Activity" link to the left to print out an activity sheet
- Print off enough sheets for your class / groups
- Project the poster onto the Interactive Whiteboard
- Talk the children through the module poster
- Once the class have a clear understanding of which different food groups athletes eat and in what portions ask them to begin the task
- Challenge your children to design a sandwich which would be suitable for a professional sportsman to eat
