Learning Objectives
- Inform the children how many calories are present in different common meals
- Reinforce the message that different cooking methods and pairing different foods can have an effect on the health balance of a meal.
- Tests the children’s memory skills
Getting Started
- Click on the link to the left to start the game
- Click on the instructions pdf on the left and use it as a guide for the game
- Project the game onto the IWB
- 6 pairs of cards will appear, one with a picture of a meal and the other with the correct amount of calories which that meal contains
- Talk through these with the class, explaining that these are the estimated calorie counts for an average portion
- Once you are comfortable that the children have sufficient knowledge of the preparation methods, invite a child up to the board.
