Learning Objectives
- Clearly demonstrate that food is split into 5 main food groups
- Provide children with an opportunity to clearly demonstrate they understand where food belongs in each of the 5 groups
- Inform children on exactly how much of each group they should be eating for a balanced diet
Getting Started
- Click on the link to the left to start the game.
- Click on the instructions pdf on the left and use it as a guide for the game.
- Project the food group plate picture featuring all foods onto the IWB.
- Once the class have a clear understanding of the 5 groups and the major foods in each, project the coloured plate image with the portion lines for the 5 groups drawn onto the IWB.
- The blank coloured plate will feature 24 illustrations of different foods from across the 5 groups.
